The Mustang body was larger and slightly offset, and was fitted with a plastic pickguard but with the volume and tone controls mounted on a separate metal plate. In 1964, following the release of the Fender Mustang, both the Musicmaster and Duo-Sonic were redesigned using Mustang neck and body blanks. The neck is straight and has a nice vintage vibe. Its in amazing condition The paint is very clean with an almost unnoticeable belt mark on the rear. The neck feels sweet and soft and plays effortlessly, the 22-fret rosewood fingerboard is really beautiful! The body shows several chips, dings, dongs and playwaer but there are no repairs or refins and all is legit. Extremely clean Musicmaster from 1977 in Olympic White. The bridge saddles have been replaced and the originals are in the case, which is a 1970's Cheney England hardshell case. The Olympic White finish has aged beautifully into more of a banana cream color & shows off a gorgeous patina. Update: The 1976 Fender Musicmaster Bass Lives After a lot of elbow grease, the glued on felt is no more. The bass shows minor nicks, dents & dings surface scratches & some mild weather checking. The amp actually comes with its original owners manual.Ĭosmetic Condition: Both are in really nice shape for their ages with typical modest play wear. Both are in great shape & have been professionally inspected & set up. They've been lifelong buddies for the past forty odd years so it seemed a shame for them to part ways. Its smaller than other Fender bodies and very different shaped than a P or J. The shape is identical to the Mustang bass, the Mustang guitar, the Musicmaster guitar and the Duosonic guitar. What makes this bass/amp combo special: We recently acquired this sweet Musicmaster Bass & matching amp from the original owner, so rather than splitting them up, we decided to sell them together as a package. The Musicmaster is the same bass as the Mustang, with a different pickup and cheaper bridge.
